
Separation range
Evodos is a new, highly effective machine for separation of suspended soft or hard particles from a liquid mixture. In the same process, Evodos may separate the suspending liquid in a lighter and a heavier phase (Oil-water, fat-whey etc.).
Only a slight difference in the specific gravity of the different components in the mixture is needed to support the centrifugation.
Unlike filtration technology, Evodos technology is almost independent on the size, shape and consistency of the components.
Metal particles may be separated from a cutting fluid range from 0,3 microns and up.
Particles > 2 microns will be separated from a Bentonite-water mixture.
Algea > 1.9 microns may be harvested from seawater.
Evodos outperforms conventional centrifuges on cake discharge capacity. The collected cake may be sticky or abrasive. Before discharging the cake, any free liquid is removed. This results in a much higher dry solid content of the discharged cake.
Screw decanters are outperformed by Evodos both on separation efficiency and on use of added products as flocculants / coagulants.
The figure shows how Evodos fills the gap between conventional tools like decanters/stacked disk separators on the one side and membrane technology on the other side. Evodos leads to a more economic separation process.
