Evodos wins 2nd price EEP Award for innovative environmental technology

The EEP Award is organised every year by the European Environmental Press (EEP) in collaboration with Pollutec, the leading French environmental trade show, with the support of he EFAEP, the European Federation of Associations of Environmental Professionals. The purpose of the EEP Award is to recognise the efforts of those European companies that are improving the environment with their innovative environmental technologies. This year the jury has assigned the 2nd price of the Dutch edition to Evodos. On June 18 Marco Brocken, CEO of Evods, has received the price on the National Environmental day in The Netherlands. Comment of the Jury are as follows: "As number two de jury has chosen for the innovative centrifugal technology of Evodos from Loosdrecht, The Netherlands.

Their main advantage is that very small suspensions can be separated from mixtures, whilst at the same time the water is separated. This high-quality separation technology consumes a relative low amount of energy and requires no chemical additives. Apart from applications such as reducing the volume of sludges Evodos has developd future oriented applications. Due to the low centrifugal force it is possible to harvest and dewater algae without shearing the celstructure. This can add to the production of third generation biofuels which reduce and can even stop the negative effect on food prices and tropical forests.

This technology has a tremendous potential with an equal environmental impact. Also important for the jury is the fact that there is a wide range of applications for this technology". This month the factsheet will be forwarded to the European jury. In September they will select the gold, silver and bronze medALs of all European candidates.

Evodos in the press - The Chemical Engineer

In cooperation with DSTI (Dutch Separation Technology Institute) an article is published in the renowned magazine The Chemical Engineer, edition May 2010. The main message in the article is that cooperation between multinationals and SME companies enlarges the innovation power. This is illustrated with a showcase on harvesting and dewatering algae. DSTI is a non-profit body that stimulates this kind of cooperation. Evodos is member of the SME group of DSTI.
